Work through each section at your own pace — click to expand
To compare two things, use plus / moins / aussi + adjective + que.
Mon appartement est plus grand que ton appartement.
My apartment is bigger than your apartment.
Ma cuisine est moins moderne que ta cuisine.
My kitchen is less modern than your kitchen.
Le salon est aussi grand que ma chambre.
The living room is as big as my bedroom.
💡 The adjective still agrees with its noun: plus grand(e), plus petit(e), plus joli(e)…
You already met these in Lesson 13 (Où est le chat ?). Let's review them while we describe a home.

Nil visits Lina's apartment and they compare it with his own

Comparer + situer
Comparaisons : plus / moins / aussi + adjective + que.
• Mon salon est plus grand que ma chambre.
• Ma cuisine est moins moderne que ta cuisine.
• Le canapé est aussi confortable que le lit.
Situer : devant, derrière, en face de, à côté de, entre, sur, sous, dans. Remember de contracts with le/les → à côté du four, en face des fenêtres.
Point grammaire
Pour décrire ton logement, tu utilises les prépositions de lieu : « dans, sur, sous, à côté de… »
What you'll learn: Prepositions of place help you say where rooms, furniture, and objects are: in the kitchen, on the table, next to the sofa, behind the door.
